Terms of service

Effective Oct 28, 2026.

The service

SimpleNPI prepares and submits individual (Type 1) National Provider Identifier applications to CMS on your behalf, as a surrogate acting under your signed authorization. The service is free. The NPI itself is issued by CMS at no charge, and you can apply yourself at nppes.cms.hhs.gov at any time.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18, applying for your own NPI, and licensed or in the process of being licensed in the profession you select. One application per person. Do not apply for someone else.

Your part

Our part

What we cannot promise

CMS decides whether and when to issue an NPI. Timing on this site reflects what we have measured, not a guarantee. We are not responsible for CMS delays, CMS holds for identity review, or errors in the information you gave us. The service is provided as is, and our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid, which is nothing.

Not a government site

SimpleNPI is a private service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for CMS, HHS or NPPES.
